Configuring Windows 2000 dialup settings for Free-dialup.net

  1. To begin, click the Windows Start menu, select 'Settings', select 'Network and Dial-up Connections'.
  2. Double click the 'Make New Connection' icon.
  3. A dialogue box will open which will welcome you to the Network Connection Wizard, click 'next'.
  4. Select the 'dial-up to the Internet' option and click 'Next'.
  5. Select 'I want to set up my Internet connection manually' (3rd option), and click 'Next'.
  6. Select 'I connect through a phone line and a modem' and click 'next'.
  7. Type in 0844 535 2000 into the 'Telephone number' box (leave area code blank). Make sure that the 'Use area code and dialling rules box' is unchecked and click next.
  8. Type in your 'username' (free) and your 'passwords' (dialup). Select the first two check boxes and leave the last one blank. Click 'next'.
  9. Type a name for your new connection, such as "Free dialup" and click 'next'.

To use your new free-dialup.net connection, click the Windows Start menu, select Settings, select Dial-up Networking and double click the Free Dialup Internet Connection icon.
